For my graduateĀ research at UCSC I will be focusing on plant-plant interactions within Elkhorn Slough salt marshes. My first chapter is currently focusing on interaction outcomes among Salicornia pacifica (pickleweed), Frankenia salina (alkali-heath), Distichlis spicata (salt grass), Jaumea carnosa (marsh jaumea), and Spergularia marina (salt marsh sand-spurrey).

My project takes place in Phases 1 and 2 of the Hester Marsh project, a multimillion dollar salt marsh restoration project in the Elkhorn Slough. I am contributing to efforts to characterize and improve revegetation success at Hester.
